Presentation and technical facilities for the ASDA Tour de Yorkshire 2018

May 3rd, 2018

Timeline Television is delighted to be working with VSquared TV once again, providing presentation and technical facilities for the 2018 ASDA Tour de Yorkshire, which will be shown live on ITV4, 3 – 6 May.

Timeline’s outside broadcast team is providing a three-camera presentation operation of all the cycling action of the women’s and men’s races in Yorkshire this week. Our OB operation will be based at the finish points of each stage of the race in Doncaster, Ilkley, Scarborough and the grand final in Leeds. Our OB truck OB16 provides all the on-site facilities, including the satellite uplink.

Meanwhile, back in our Ealing Broadcast centre, we take the live feeds off satellite and process the content through our live gallery, adding graphics, EVS replays and a live mixed sound feed for live broadcast. Two edits suites are fully occupied during the day, working with the live incoming streams to compile the highlights programmes, which are played out to ITV each evening. This production runs on our recently upgraded SAN storage, which is fully integrated to EVS and edits, giving a fast turnaround and a smooth workflow.

New for 2018: The ASDA’s Women’s Tour de Yorkshire is doubling in size from one to two days. Find out more about The Tour de Yorkshire here.
